Membership

Through CBC Membership, companies engage in high level interaction with Governments on policy issues as well as B2B contact to develop new partnerships

The Commonwealth Business Council is the voice of the private sector within the Commonwealth network, playing a unique intermediary role between the private sector and Commonwealth heads of government, ministers of trade and finance, ministers responsible for information and communications technologies as well as other ministers involved in trade and investment issues.

The CBC acts as a facilitator, providing governments with constructive input from the private sector whilst at the same time providing the private sector with productive access to government. We provide our members with the opportunity to interact in open environments with leaders from the private sector, diplomats, policy-makers and industry experts.

Our work is guided by an elected board drawn from our corporate membership, thus ensuring that the CBC's agenda reflects the priorities of all those it was established to serve. Working in conjunction with the CBC, members contribute leadership, expertise and resources to build partnerships at the highest levels of the private sector and government through the implementation of a diverse range of programmes within the Commonwealth and the wider international community.

We achieve this in a variety of ways – through corporate membership, long-term strategic partnerships and working groups.
