Insurance Solutions for Managing the Food Crisis

Swiss Re is partnering with the Commonwealth Business Council to help develop Private Public Partnerships with interested countries for agriculture investment and risk management.

Food prices for wheat, maize, corn or soybeans have risen in the last 18 months markedly, mainly as a result of a growing imbalance between supply and demand for agricultural products. Since 2000, prices for food have nearly doubled around the world. The supply side is not keeping up with increases in demand. Direct investment s into agriculture production are still remarkably low.

Commonwealth Business Environment Report 2009

CBC has partnered with Global Business Reports to produce the Commonwealth Business Environment Report 2009. Building on the success of the CBC Business Environment surveys, this year’s report was launched at the Commonwealth Business Forum and CHOGM held in Trinidad & Tobago in November. The Report is a comprehensive study of the climate for international investors in each of the Commonwealth member states. The report was compiled through months of on-the-ground research and one-on-one interviews with key decision makers.

Business Environment Survey 2007
