The Commonwealth Business Council (CBC) is pleased to announce its flagship Africa Investment Forum (AIF) will be held on 18th-19th November in Gauteng, South Africa. We are delighted that the 2008 Forum will be co-hosted by the Gauteng Economic Development Agency (GEDA) which will enable strong linkages to be developed with this major African Industrial and financial centre. The Forum provides a platform to bring investors and projects together to enhance African trade and investment, and to build new business partnerships. The focus of this year's Forum will be on strengthening linkages between African economies as a means to promote new investment.
The event will focus on showcasing African investment opportunities and intra regional trade in the following countries:
The Forum will feature specific discussion on key economic sectors including:
Global Financial Crisis and Africa
Strengthening Transport Infrastructure
Accelerating African Investment in Africa
Improving the Investment Climate
Trading in single SADC Market
Supporting SME Growth
Natural Resources Contributing to Sustainability
Business Action Against Corruption
A feature of the Forum will be the large scale participation, for the first time, of African investment promotion agencies from East, Central and Southern Africa, which will showcase projects to international investment banks and financial institutions. The Forum also includes a Pre-forum Call for Projects and a Project Journal to be distributed to interested parties and project finance clinic.
